Engagement guide
How a fintech audit engagement unfolds
From the first scoping call to the closing briefing, every audit follows a rhythm designed for payment, lending, and digital finance teams who still have a business to run.
-
1. Scoping conversation
We ask which product lines matter, who will read the findings, and what decision hangs on the review. You leave with a draft scope outline and a sense of timeline realism — including when evidence gaps would stretch fieldwork.
-
2. Engagement letter
Fees, confidentiality, sample periods, deliverable format, and access commitments are written down. Work does not begin until both sides sign and the deposit (for fixed-fee audits) clears.
-
3. Evidence intake
You provide policy packs, org charts, reconciliation samples, incident logs, and nominated process owners. We inventory what arrived and flag missing items before walkthroughs are booked.
-
4. Fieldwork
Walkthroughs, interviews, and sample testing proceed against the agreed plan. On-site days focus on observing settlement, exception queues, and customer remediation — not marathon slide presentations.
-
5. Factual review
Draft findings go to your nominated contacts for factual correction. We debate severity where evidence supports it; we adjust when you supply context we lacked.
-
6. Final memo & briefing
You receive the final findings pack and, when scoped, a management or committee briefing. Remediation owners and sequencing are explicit so the work does not end as a PDF in a shared drive.
What we need from you
- A single internal coordinator who can unlock calendars and document rooms
- Honest disclosure of known control issues already on your radar
- Access to operations staff during settlement-relevant hours when walkthroughs are in scope
- Timely factual comments on drafts so the calendar does not slip
What we commit to
- Clear severity language tied to evidence, not theatrics
- Respect for production floors and customer-facing queues
- Mandarin and English delivery options when agreed in the letter
- No surprise expansion of scope without a written change note
